Winter Base Training Camp - Tucson, Arizona

LOCATION: Tucson, Arizona

FOCUS: Full or Half Ironman winter base training. This camp is for any level of athlete, but should be ready for a high volume of training.  This camp is perfect for you if you are planning Ironman Australia, Ironman St George, Ironman Coeur D'Alene, Ironman Brazil, Ironman France, or Ironman 70.3 New Orleans, Florida, Lonestar or St Croix.  Fitness focus will be on aerobic base training, but we'll get some hard stuff in, including climbing Mt Lemmon and train running.  If you're a beginner, we're here to help.  If you're an experienced athlete, Kona-proven coaches Brian and Bill will show you all they know.

Camp Details:

Escape the cold and join us for the fourth annual Tucson, Arizona Triathlon Camp!

The Tucson camps are fun, challenging, and the perfect early season base training week. We're planning some new things this year, but expect the same great routes such as Mt Lemmon (a steady climb to 8400'), Sabino Canyon (one of the most beautiful places on earth to run) and a great outdoor pool. Take advantage of great coaching, heart rate and power zone setup, underwater video analysis, amazing goody bags, and some fun and exciting workouts to get in shape for the season.

Cost: $1370 shared hotel room or $1670 private hotel room.

Price includes:  coached swim sessions, great riding and running, strength and core training, sponsor swag bag, training nutrition, complete sag support, professional coaching, Q&A, bike fit, HR zone setup and discussion, and good times.  Does not include meals or travel to Tucson.

If you would like double accommodations, and do not already have a roommate, we will do our best to partner you with someone, however this cannot be guaranteed.  If we are unable to find a roommate for you, you may be required to pay the single room accommodations price.  

A deposit of $500 is due initially to reserve your spot, then another payment of $500.00 is due by January 1st. The last payment will be due one week before camp ($370 single/$670.00 double)

Camp will be limited to 16 athletes for a 4:1 athlete to coach ratio.

Locals welcome!  Full camp rate for those not needing a hotel is $895.  This includes all camp aspects aside from hotel.  

Grasky Endurance Coaching reserves the right to cancel a camp.  If need be, we will do so at least 30 days prior to the beginning of the camp and you will be issued a full refund.  GEC is not responsible for airline fees or other fees associated with planning your trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are meals included in the price of the camp?  Yes and No.  During our Tucson Triathlon camps,  dinners will be out at authentic locally owned and operated restaurants.  Tucson has an amazing cultural history and we’ve found that most campers coming from the north would rather enjoy the authentic Mexican food that Tucson has to offer, therefore, dinners in Tucson are not included in the price of the camp.  Our Tucson accommodations do have refrigerators and there is a grocery store across the street from the hotel for snacks.

Does Tucson have a major airport?  Yes, Tucson does have an international airport and accommodates most carriers.  It is not generally any advantage to fly into Phoenix.

Is transportation provided from Tucson International Airport to the hotel?  Yes; however airport pickup is only provided on the first day of the camp, between the hours of 10am and 4:30pm.  Airport drop-off is only provided the last day of the camp between the hours of 11am and 5pm.  

Can I ship my bike to Tucson instead of fly with it?  Yes, we have worked a deal through our local sponsoring triathlon shop, Trisports.com.  Trisports.com will receive your bike, build and tune it, store your box, and repack and ship after the camp for $100 plus shipping.  Contact Trisports.com for details.  Tell them you are part of the Grasky Endurance Camp.

Do I need to bring my own workout nutrition?  No.  Training and recovery nutrition by Hammer Nutrition is provided.  If you desire something else, we encourage you to bring it.  

Will I need to rent a car?  No.  All transportation at the camp site is included.  If you would like to have more flexibility and freedom in your stay, however, then you can, of course, rent a car. 

Are flights included in the cost of the camp?  No.  Flights are not included in the cost.
