GEC is a network of four coaches and a registered dietitian, with a passion for doing all they can to help athletes reach their goals—and the track record that proves they have the ability to do so. All GEC coaches are based in Tucson, AZ, the number one community for triathletes, but we work with athletes all over the country (and at times in Afghanistan and Iraq) We are more than athletes who coach from their own experiences. Yes, we have “been there-done that,” but above that we are professional, proven, effective coaches. We are Kona proven, but our athletes have made this list as well. We have also had athletes make the Clearwater list…in fact, seven just in 2009. We and our athletes have been contenders at Ironman, Best of the US, USAT age group nationals, HalfMax, and ITU worlds at all distances. We have helped athletes get their pro cards, take overall wins, do their first triathlon or become an Ironman. At GEC we are just as effective with the Kona qualifier as with the first timer. GEC coaches are knowledgeable. Not only are we certified through USA Triathlon and USA Cycling, but each goes through GEC’s own certification process to become a GEC coach. Our continued education and conference attendance means you are getting a coach who continually strives to give you the best support. Let us help you in your quest to get faster. Too often athletes get caught up on needing the “latest” in shoes, tri-clothing, wetsuits, helmets, nutrition, etc. when they are at the pre-race expo and try some new products on race day. In addition, often athletes fail to recognize that the race aid stations will have different products than they have used in training and get stuck with relying on a product that may not sit well with their systems. At the end of the day these athletes often limp home with stomach issues, bad blisters, or mechanical failures because they simply did not take the time to try out these products in a training environment. So, the next time you get enticed by the new “fastest” triathlon product at an expo or just before an event, go ahead and look but don't Tri with it until you try it in training. |
